Kasper Thaarup was born in 1974 and studied at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen and in 2002 Kasper graduated from the soloist class with concert examination.
After only 3 years at the conservatory, Kasper won the audition for solo trombone with the Danish National Radio Sinfonietta in Copenhagen.
Kasper is in demand as a trombonist in the following orchestras: Koninklijk Concertgebouw Orkester, Royal Opera Copenhagen, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra Copenhagen, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Opera in Sweden.
Kasper won fourth prize in Toulon in 2001, "Concour international d`Instruments a vent du Festival de Musique de Toulon" and was awarded second prize in Grenchen "Concours Branimir Slokar" (2002).
Kasper appeared as soloist with the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra, Hermitage Symphony Orchestra / Camerata St. Petersburg, and Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.
