Nikolaj Viltoft was born in 1977. He studied with
Christer Nilsson at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in
Copenhagen.
1999, 2000, and 2001 Nikolaj was selected to be a member of the European
Union Youth Orchestra and during the summer of 2001 he was on a concert
tour with Orkester Norden playing solo trumpet in Mahler's Fifth
Symphony.
2001 on a contract with the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra.
2001/2002 on a contract with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra as 2nd
principal trumpet.
2002 won a position with the opera in Malmø, Sweden.
2002 on a contract with the Odense Symphony Orchestra as principal
trumpet.
2003 on a contract with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra as 2nd
principal trumpet.
2003-2005 soloiststudies at the Hochschule für Musik Köln with professor
Urban Agnas.
2004 Principal trumpet, Opera National de Paris.
